An X-Men/Marvel Movie Crossover Is an "Impossibility"
It's the ultimate dream of many a Marvel fan to see the Fox-owned X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover into the Marvel Cinematic Universe - but it sounds like it's not ever going to happen.

Speaking to Variety, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said the following when asked if Marvel could co-produce an X-Men or Fantastic Four movie with Fox in the way that they are with Sony and Spider-Man: Homecoming:
Opening quote
"It's an impossibility at this juncture. We certainly have enough films to keep us busy for a number of lifetimes."
Closing quote

Ouch. That statement doesn't leave much room for optimism, with the specter of a "number of lifetimes" being especially intimidating for a timeline of when we might see Wolverine and Captain America together in a movie. As per Fox's deal with Marvel, the studio must put a new film into production every seven years in order to keep the rights of the properties from reverting back to Marvel. That shouldn't pose much of a problem for the X-Men, hypothetically anyway, but the Fantastic Four could be another matter.

After the abysmal Fantastic Four movie last year, Fox canceled the planned sequel that was scheduled for 2017. They still have six years to put another FF movie into production, but after three failed attempts at building a franchise, the studio may (hopefully) decide to just let the rights slip away.

On Marvel's end though, unless Feige is keeping his cards close to his chest, they don't seem terribly interested in acquiring either franchise. It's a poorly-kept secret that both the comic book and merchandising sides of Marvel have been sweeping the X-Men and the Fantastic Four under the rug for years in an effort to make their comics look more like their movies, and they seem to be just fine with continuing to do so. If only that weren't the case.
