Has Armie Hammer Been Cast in the DCEU?
There have been a few times in the past where viewing Twitter interactions between DC execs, actors, and directors has led to some pretty accurate predictions about casting news and the like for upcoming DC movies. For instance, before Rick Famuyiwa (who has now left the project) first signed on to direct The Flash, there were a few sites that predicted that might be the case due to the fact that Rick and some of the other creatives over at Warner Brothers started following each other on Twitter. There are likely a handful of similar examples as well, but let it suffice to say that monitoring Twitter activity can sometimes be an effective way to gauge what's going on at the studio.

So while there is absolutely no concrete evidence that Armie Hammer has signed on for a DC film, one of the rumors going around is that he has. The reason? He and Geoff Johns, the new big wig at DC Films, just started following each other on Twitter. While it could mean nothing more than that they bumped into each other at a coffee shop, it could also be a similar case to what happened with Famuyiwa - meaning it could foreshadow a near-future casting announcement.

Hammer is an excellent actor, though he hasn't had the luck of starring in many hits as of late. The Lone Ranger was seen by many as a huge disappointment, and sadly, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., though an extremely original and witty take on the spy genre, underperformed as well. Still, his performance in both roles proves he has the chops to take on a comic book movie, and seeing as how he was also cast as Batman in Justice League Mortal, the scrapped George Miller film from back in 2008, he's probably already up to speed with DC lore.

If a Hammer casting is real, then what part would he play? There's been talk that he could be Hal Jordan, but as the character's appearance in the DCEU probably won't come until the 2020 Green Lantern Corps movie, it seems just a bit earlier for that announcement (but then again, look how long the Rock's been cast as Black Adam). Some are wondering if it could be for a role in Ben Affleck's Batman film, which would be exciting. If so, would he be playing a villain? Or could he be the first Robin and Nightwing, Dick Grayson?
