The New 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special Trailer Is Super-Powered!
Doctor Who fans have been looking forward to this Christmas special all year—last year was a touching goodbye to River Song, while the year before involved an extended adventure with none other than Santa Claus (and some brain-eating crabs). As if that wasn't strange enough, this year the Twelfth Doctor (played by the inimitable Peter Capaldi) is going to meet Ghost, a full-on superhero, and team back up with Nardole, who continues to look like the long-lost brother to Tim Burton's Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Here's the new clip:

There's a lot packed into this 30-second trailer: we've got Ghost introducing himself and showing off some Superman-like abilities, an ominous-sounding CEO promising to open people's minds (along with shots of a bunch of brains in jars...double entendre!), and some scary-looking surgeons that the Doctor calls "alien life forms". There's also a short shot of a spaceship and Nardole and the Doctor apparently on its bridge, so there's gonna be some space-action, too.

Doctor Who has always been a unique blend of sci-fi awesomeness, British humor, and touching emotional moments, and with Peter Capaldi returning as the Twelfth Doctor (along with the fan-favorite writer Steven Moffat), the long-awaited tenth season promises to be one for the books. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to go and imagine the Twelfth Doctor's unimpressed face as he learns about the DC CW "Invasion!" crossover.
