Justice League 2 is Getting Pushed Back to Make Way for Ben Affleck’s Batman Film
Justice League is now just a little under a year away from its premiere, and DC fans couldn't be more excited for the DCEU's first full-fledged superhero team-up. However, a sequel to the film won't be following as quickly as some initially thought, as it's recently been announced by Zack Snyder via THR that Justice League 2 is getting pushed back to make way for Ben Affleck's standalone Batman film.

Apparently, Snyder has decided to work on another, non-DC related project after he finishes post-production on Justice League, and won't be immediately returning to direct Justice League 2. THR's report says that Snyder is still on board for the film, which likely means that earlier reports of another director being hired to replace him on the second JL film after the critics bashed Batman v Superman are untrue. This will no doubt come as a relief to some and as a bummer to others, as Snyder has been a polarizing filmmaker from the get go. With the course corrections being put into effect by Geoff Johns and co., it's hard to tell just how different Justice League will be from prior Snyder films, however, which means there's still the potential for critical redemption.

As Justice League 2's premiere was set for June 2019, Ben Affleck's solo Batman film will likely take its place, though no concrete date has been given. With The Flash recently losing its director (again), it's also entirely possible that The Flash could get pushed back to the later 2019 date and that Affleck's Bat film could be moved to 2018. Then again, Affleck always seems to mention that the script needs more work, and as he's one to take the time necessary to make a quality project, a later release date could be more likely.

Justice League will premiere on November 17, 2017.
