Set Photos From 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Confirm a New Major Alliance Between [SPOILER]
Game of Thrones has always been a constantly shifting tapestry of murder, betrayal, double-crosses, and tentative alliances, but now that we've reached Season 7, it's only going to get more intense. We've been keeping a close eye on overseas reports on the Season 7 production, including set photos that seemed to reveal the return of Gendry (who has apparently been circumnavigating the globe in little boat, like a sad Marco Polo), a major victory for the Lannisters, and a big meeting (and possible alliance) between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, as well as reports that two new locations will be visited (Highgarden and Casterly Rock). All of this sits in the shadow of what appears to be a massive leak, which appears to outline the entire plot of Season 7.

Today, though, we got another big piece of news, thanks to the Spanish news site HOY (via Watchers on the Wall): it looks like Euron Greyjoy, who deposed Yara and Theon's father to take control of the Iron Islands, will be allying himself with Cersei Lannister. New set photos show Euron leading Yara, Ellaria, and Tyene through the streets of King's Landing in chains after ostensibly capturing them following a battle at sea. What happened to Nymeria and Obara? Well, odds are good that they're dead, dead, dead.

Euron joining with Cersei immediately presents a new problem for Jon Snow and Daenerys: the Iron Fleet. Last we saw of Daenerys she was setting sail for Westeros after taking command of the Dothraki. A giant fleet of longships could pose some understandable problems for her triumphant return...

Game of Thrones Season 7 returns to HBO in summer 2017.
