Megan Fox May Be Playing Poison Ivy in DC's 'Gotham City Sirens'
We were incredulous to hear that Suicide Squad won a Critic's Choice Award this week (even if it was just for Margot Robbie), but the biggest surprise of all is that Suicide Squad has been judged successful enough to spawn a whole string of follow-ups: so far we're getting not only a Deadshot spinoff and a Suicide Squad 2, but a new vehicle for Margot Robbie's beloved Harley Quinn, titled Gotham City Sirens. The movie will apparently be based on the DC Comics series of the same name, which featured Harley, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy among others, and now some rumors are swirling that we might already know who our red-headed, plant-themed vixen will be.

According to BleedingCool, Megan Fox has been receiving some very specific comic books at her Warner Bros. address: copies of Harley Quinn that feature Harley and Ivy. The two are the biggest DCU BFFs since Bats and Supes, and most fans are looking forward to seeing the relationship (which ranges from partners in crime to a slightly antagonistic friendship) play out on a big screen. Megan Fox has said in the past that she'd be interested in playing Poison Ivy (partly due to the redhead thing), and it's common knowledge that Fox is a huge comic book fan.

Now that DC has begun to crawl out of the crater created by Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad's critical reception, Gotham City Sirens could be a chance to recalibrate their formula and create a girls' night out that's fun, funny, and multi-layered, just like its starring villainesses. Megan Fox can certainly pull off Ivy's look, but her past movies (Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) make us hesitant to get excited about the prospect of her playing Harley Quinn's leafy bestie. In the meantime, we've at least got an idea when we're going to see that new Batfleck movie.
