Ryan Reynolds Reveals His Favorite Cut Joke From Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds may be the closest thing to a real life Deadpool that the world will ever see, but not everything that emerged from that deranged mind of his made the cut in the best picture nominated film. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds was asked about his favorite cut line from the film, and he responded by revealing one of the absurd, nonsensical Deadpool-isms that the audience didn't have the privilege of hearing in theaters.

Opening quote
Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) says something about our duplex we live in. I say, 'This isn't a duplex - it's hepatitis holding still.' That was one of my favorite lines, which is sorta slightly stolen from Funny Farm: 'This ain't a bridge - it's termites holding hands.' So I can't take credit for it.
Closing quote

"This isn't a duplex - it's hepatitis holding still?" The meaning of the joke is veiled to say the least, but then again, perhaps the absolute absurdity of the statement is supposed to be the point. With Reynolds, it's hard to tell, but the film obviously did well enough without its inclusion. Deadpool's recent nomination for best picture came as somewhat of a surprise - while it was certainly creative and innovative, a comic book movie being put in the running for an award that would name it the best film of the year was totally unheard of before 2016. As this is the year pigs have apparently started flying, the strangeness of the occurrence seems to have barely registered with anyone.

Deadpool 2 is currently in pre-production with John Wick's David Leitch directing, and it's hoped that the story of when Deadpool met Cable is able to match the magic of the first. It's hard to say what to expect from the film; knowing Reynolds and co., it could be anything from a quirky action/adventure like the first, or a beautiful romantic comedy - also like the first (but with Cable instead of Vanessa).

Deadpool 2 is expected to premiere in early 2018.
