Ben Affleck's 'The Batman' is Reportedly Delayed
Things are not looking good at Warner Bros. if this latest report on Ben Affleck's The Batman is to be believed. After a number of starts and stops and airings of public grievances, it looks like the film has been pushed back. Oof.

Batman-On-Film
claims a source close to the movie revealed that filming will not begin this spring as previously stated, but has instead been pushed back at least a "couple months," meaning filming likely won't begin until midsummer at the earliest. That could lead to a rushed production in order to have the film ready in time for its July 2018 release, and as we saw with Suicide Squad, rushed DC productions aren't doing anyone any favors. However, depending on how far the movie's production is pushed back, it could potentially end up delaying the release date as well. And Affleck, who seems determined not to make a bad movie here, could easy pressure Warner Bros. into making that decision.

No reason was given for the delay, but one rumor is that it may be related to Justice League. There is some buzz going around that the team up movie is "a mess," and that Affleck knows this and is hoping to hold The Batman for a 2019 release so people have time to get the taste of Justice League out of their mouths by the time his incarnation of the Caped Crusader returns to the screen. That's just speculation, and it's hopefully not true, but if it is then it may be time for Warner to rethink their whole DCEU plan.

Whatever's really going on with The Batman, there's still some good news for fans of the Dark Knight: the fantastic-looking Lego Batman Movie has not been delayed, and will be hitting theaters on February 10.
