'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Toys Reveal the Film's New Villain
Despite being the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film to come out at the time of this writing, there's still a lot we don't know about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The trailers have been light on plot details, which is honestly good since nobody likes spoilers in trailers. But toys can sometimes contain just as many spoilers, and the new line of Funko toys accidentally showed us the film's new villain.

So (spoilers) here's what we know, and here's what we've just learned. It's already been known for some time that Elizabeth Debicki will be playing Ayesha, the film's villain and a "gold skinned high priestess," according to director James Gunn. We haven't gotten an official look, but hidden in a group shot of Funko's new "Pint Size Heroes" was a strange blonde character (though it's hard to tell how gold she is here). A fan asked who they were looking at, and Gunn responded on Twitter:

Ayesha, also known as Paragon, Kismet, and simply "Her," is a genetically engineered super-being created by an evil group called the Enclave, the same group who created Adam Warlock. Other new characters in this toy line will include the empathic Mantis (played by Pom Klementieff), which is the woman in green with the antennas. And next to Ayesha is a character named Taserface, one of Yondu's Ravagers. Kurt Russell will play Ego the Living Planet, Star Lord's father, whose appearance is being kept more closely under wraps. Oh, and we'll get tiny Groot instead of big Groot, too.

If you haven't caught it yet, here's the most recent trailer. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on May 5, 2017.
