Moody 'Twin Peaks' Teaser Brings Back Agent Dale Cooper
Fittingly done on a Friday the 13th, Showtime released their latest teaser for the May 2017 revival of the mystery/horror/surreal art piece Twin Peaks. And importantly, it gives us a look at series star Kyle MacLachlan, in character as the coffee-loving FBI agent Dale Cooper. Much like the show itself, the teaser is moody, mysterious and rather vague, but nice to look at. Just know what you're getting into before you check it out:

We see the town's classic waterfall, some creepy nighttime shots of the woods and the road, and then Cooper himself walks into view. It sets an atmosphere to be sure, but beyond learning that MacLachlan hasn't aged a single day since the 1990s, we don't get too much new information. But showing us the star makes it slightly more informative than the previous teasers, which include a synth performance by series composer Angelo Badalamenti, and 30 seconds of series creator David Lynch eating a donut (in his character of hard-of-hearing FBI chief Gordon).

Agent Cooper actually looks rather upset, which suggests they're following up on the extremely creepy ending for season 2 back in 1991, (spoiler warning) in which Cooper was trapped in the Black Lodge while a demonic doppelgänger ran around in his place. Chances are, season 3 will focus on getting him out of there, but you should never try to predict a show like Twin Peaks.

And here's the teaser of Lynch eating a donut, in case that one caught your attention:
