Carrie Fisher Will Not Be Digitally Recreated in Star Wars Films
In the wake of Carrie Fisher's tragic passing in December, there's been some concern among Star Wars fans that Princess Leia may be CGI'd into future films, which could easily lead to something insensitive or tasteless occurring. Responding to such rumors, Lucasfilm firmly dismissed the idea in a statement on their official website.

Opening quote
"We don't normally respond to fan or press speculation, but there is a rumor circulating that we would like to address. We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher's performance as Princess or General Leia Organa."
Closing quote

As to where the rumors started, it likely came from the fact that Star Wars films have done this in the past. Notably Rogue One, which featured a digitally recreated Grand Moff Tarkin as a major character in the film, whose actor Peter Cushing passed away in 1994. It also included a brief scene of a young Princess Leia, which was completed before Fisher's passing. The Hollywood Reporter recently claimed that important scenes for Leia were indeed planned for Episode IX, so chances are, any scenes involving her will be rewritten or transferred to a new character.

While it's good to hear that Lucasfilm has a mind to pay proper respects to Fisher, the question won't become a significant problem until Episode IX in 2019, where Lucasfilm will have to decide how to close out the story of Leia Organa. Fisher will still be in Episode VIII, as director Rian Johnson finished filming last summer.

Lucasfilm closed out their statement with another tribute to the actress:
Opening quote
"Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars.
