Jessica Jones and Daredevil Share a 'Cat-and-Mouse' Dynamic in 'Defenders'
The twisted and purple Kilgrave may be gone, but Jessica Jones' story is far from over. Leading into Marvel's The Defenders (which will be a team-up of her, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist), Jones actress Krysten Ritter gave an interview with Entertainment Weekly about what to expect from her character becoming a team player.

First things first, expect her not to be a team player. Season 1 of Jessica Jones ended with Alias Investigations P.I. being flooded with calls in response to her stopping Kilgrave's murders and she wants no part of it. As Ritter explains:
Opening quote
"She's still dealing with the aftermath of Kilgrave, and now she's dealing with 'success' - and not well. People want her to work for them, she's getting a lot of business, and she's not ready for any of that. She hasn't changed, but her environment has, and there's no handbook for how to exist in a world where you are now popular."
Closing quote

Since we already know about Jessica and Luke Cage's relationship, as he was a supporting character in Jones before his own show premiered, the question of how Jessica and Matt Murdock will interact is one of the show's most intriguing aspects. Both are headstrong and have different but very strict rules about how they do things. Remember that (spoiler warning) season 1 of Daredevil ended with Murdock's decision to stick by his Catholic morals and not kill Wilson Fisk, while season 1 of Jessica Jones ended with the decisive and necessary death of Kilgrave by Jessica's hands.

As Sigourney Weaver's new villain Alexandra tears through New York, the question of what to do with her will surely come up. Ritter said she's already filmed several scenes with Charlie Cox (who plays Matt Murdock), and promises the two will share a "cat-and-mouse dynamic" with each other. As to which character is which, Ritter said "It switches back and forth, to be honest."

Marvel's The Defenders will premiere Summer 2017 on Netflix. Season 2 of Jessica Jones is planned, but has no current release date.
