Listen to Adam West's Wonderfully Campy Voiceover in the New "Powerless" Trailer
The upcoming TV series Powerless promises to be a fun, alternative look at how typical citizens exist in a world full of superheroes and villains. Starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alan Tudyk (fresh off the recent season finale of his hilarious web series Con Man), Powerless just released a new trailer that pays a winking nod to the DC Universe by having the original Caped Crusader and creator of Batusi, Adam West, do the voiceover narration.

With his trademark quavering voice and tongue-in-cheek inflections, West helps give the series a sense of campy fun and faux epic-ness that only a former Batman could deliver. Hopefully, this will be just one of many cameos throughout the run of the show.

Vanessa Hudgens is set to play the lead role of Emily Locke, who is brought in to Wayne Security's' R&D group to help lead the department's efforts to create gadgets to protect normal citizens from collateral damage caused by superheroes. Tudyk plays Emily's terrible boss, Van Wayne, the cousin of the famous Bruce Wayne (who we imagine feels some guilt over blowing up buildings and ripping up streets as Batman). Its cast also includes Danny Pudi and Ron Funches as members of the wacky R&D team.

Powerless has gone through extensive re-shoots and rewrites to focus more squarely on existing in the DC universe (as well as moving away from the "insurance company" concept it started with). The show is scheduled to premiere on February 2nd on NBC and looks like it will inject some much-needed laughter into the DC universe.
