A Famous TV Lois Lane Is Coming to 'Supergirl'
CW/ABC
Lois Lane is finally headed to Supergirl, sort of. It's actually actress Teri Hatcher of Lois & Clark who's heading to the show, but she won't be playing the character who made her famous.

Instead, the 52-year-old will portray the show's main supervillain for the second half of the season, but so far no one's saying just who that will be. Here's what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say about the casting:
Opening quote
"No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all-time favorite Lois Lane, to have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti], and the fans."
Closing quote

Hatcher, of course, played Lois Lane in the '90s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, before going on to star in Desperate Housewives. Her Lois & Clark co-star Dean Cain has already appeared in a number of Supergirl episodes as Kara Danvers' adoptive father, Dr. Jeremiah Danvers, who is currently being held captive at Cadmus. So it makes sense to bring on the show's other star to complete the inside joke.

The real question now is, other than what villain Hatcher will be playing, is if Supergirl will feature Hatcher and Cain in an episode together for a true Lois & Clark reunion. It's entirely possible if Hatcher ends up being a Cadmus bigwig, but there's no way to tell for sure. Still, we can dream, can't we?
