If there's one thing everyone can agree on about Batman v Superman, it's that the movie is an impressive sight to behold. The movie is crafted around gorgeous, compelling imagery, and it can be argued that the visual shots Zack Snyder has strung together are among the best images in all of science fiction cinema.

As if to further emphasize that point, as well as show off the incredible level of craftsmanship that went into each and every frame of the movie, Snyder's production company, Cruel and Unusual Films, has released a visual effects reel for Batman v Superman, with some impressive before-and-after comparisons that show what was done to turn raw footage into the final action-packed movie:

In the modern age of seamless computer-generated effects, most viewers still like to pride themselves on their ability to spot a CGI effect when it appears in a big-budget movie, but this twelve-minute video does an excellent job of proving how wrong any of us are in assuming that we can tell the difference between a genuine shot and a computer effect.

While Batman v Superman is a common punching bag among movie fans for its lack of coherent story and unusual characterization, at least one thing's for certain: Zack Snyder did an amazing job of using the technology at his disposal to create a series of utterly breathtaking digital effects shots.
