X-Men 'New Mutants' Might See Maisie Williams Playing a Werewolf
HBO
Is Arya Stark joining Sansa in the X-Men film universe? Game of Thrones has made stars out of a number of its actors, and several have popped up in other iconic nerdy properties: Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) starred in Terminator: Genisys, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) showed up in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and most recently, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) played Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse.

The future of the mutant franchise is reportedly being built around Turner with the news we've heard about X-Men: Supernova, but she may soon get some on-screen company in the form of her TV sister. Maisie Williams, who plays resident assassin Arya Stark on Thrones, has been rumored for a while now to have the role of Wolfsbane in the upcoming New Mutants movie. And while the rumors remain unconfirmed, they just received a pretty strong endorsement from the films writer and director, Josh Boone.

On February 11, Boone tweeted out a mockup of Williams as the werewolf-like mutant by illustrator Ashley Guillory. Check it out below:

Again, this doesn't mean that Williams is playing Wolfsbane, but it at leasts suggests that Boone is considering her for the role. While details on the upcoming movie remain scarce, it's believed that it will focus on the team's classic lineup of Danielle Moonstar, Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Cannonball, Magik, and Warlock. And although there's no confirmed release date yet, Boone has said that the movie will start shooting this spring - meaning that a release next year is not out of the question.

In any case, we're definitely psyched for the possibility of more Starks becoming mutants in the future.
