Hugh Jackman Officially Quashes Hopes for a Deadpool-Wolverine Crossover Movie
It's official: we're absolutely, definitely not getting a crossover movie with both Deadpool and Wolverine.

In a live Facebook question and answer session designed to promote the upcoming Logan, Hugh Jackman was asked whether he's at all willing to return to his most iconic role for a team-up movie with Ryan Reynolds' popular Deadpool character. You can watch the full interview below, or skip to the bottom for the highlights.

So Jackman is emphatic in his refusal of the possibility. According to the actor, Logan is his final time taking on the mantle of Wolverine, and he can't be persuaded to change his mind:

Opening quote
"Look, if that movie had appeared 10 years ago, probably a different story," says Jackman, "but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one....Deadpool, go for it man, do your thing. You don't need me."
Closing quote

While many fans are likely disappointed to learn that we most definitely won't be getting a team-up movie with the two popular characters any time soon, it's commendable that Jackman is willing to stick to his guns and walk away from the role. Logan is a movie which is designed around an aging Wolverine coming to the end of his road, and it seems like the perfect high-note for Jackman to bow out gracefully.

We've no doubt got plenty more Deadpool movies coming in the near future, but it's probably wise for Jackman to leave his fans wanting more, rather than overstay his welcome.

Logan hits US theaters on March 3rd, 2017.
