See the Absurd 'Deadpool 2' Teaser That's Playing Before 'Logan' Screenings
20th Century Fox
Anyone who's had the good fortune to see Logan on opening night (and do read our review) also got a glimpse at the first Deadpool 2 teaser, and perhaps too much of a glimpse at star Ryan Reynolds. But for everyone else, you can either wait until you see the movie yourself, or just check out the full video uploaded online by Ryan Reynolds.

It's actually even better if you watch it online, because this three and a half minute clip is loaded with easter eggs and in-jokes. Befitting it's pre-Logan status, the teaser opens with Wade Wilson witnessing a mugging outside a screening of Logan. Things escalate from there (heads up - some male nudity à la Reynolds):

The whole ordeal a pretty good indication that Deadpool 2 won't stray far from the original, low-budget superhero hit. Wilson, upon seeing the mugging, shouts "Not on my watch" and a bit more as he dashes into a phone booth to change while Superman music blares. Unlike most superheroes, who keep their costumes underneath their regular clothes, Deadpool strips down completely naked, taking his sweet time until a gunshot goes off. He then yells at Stan Lee and reflects on his rescue gone wrong, and also on how he possibly found a phone booth in this day and age.

The teaser is full of odd little things scattered throughout: the obvious Stan Lee and Logan shoutouts, a scrawling of "Nathan Summers cumming soon" which is a NSFW reference to the mutant Cable, a bunch of Firefly posters on the wall behind him, music from both Superman and Joel Schumacher's 1985 romance St. Elmo's Fire, and Ben & Jerry's "Cherry Garcia" ice cream. It ends with a wall of text that sort of describes Ernest Hemingway's novel, The Old Man and the Sea, reading like a twisted book report by Wade Wilson.

Reynolds uploaded it to both his Twitter, @VancityReynolds, and to YouTube, titling it "No Good Deed" and with the following summary:
Opening quote
"Wade and the other girls from the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants plan a trip to Cabot Cove."
Closing quote

If there's anything to take from all that insanity, it's the unquestionable fact that Deadpool is back, and probably not too far off in the future. Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and "coming not soon enough," according to the teaser. And Logan just came out on March 3, 2017.
