'The Predator' Adds Edward James Olmos to the Cast
Sci-fi
Some cast photos for Shane Black's upcoming The Predator have already come out, but that cast isn't done growing yet. And the newest addition should be a familiar one to sci-fi fans, as Battlestar Galactica's Edward James Olmos is confirmed to have a role.

What Olmos' role will specifically be is unclear, beyond that it'll be "a military character," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Since characters in Predator films have a habit of being military, this is a bit vague but at least suggests they're not deviating too much from the original film (which Black also directed). Although one major new twist is that the setting will be suburban this time, which could potentially be an interesting twist on a series that prefers jungles or "concrete jungles" or anyplace suitable to the "hunters becoming the hunted" theme.

Olmos is probably best known for playing Captain Adama on the newer incarnation of Battlestar Galactica, so he's no stranger to fighting off sci-fi monsters, whether they're robotic Cylons or green hunting folks like the Predator. He's also played major roles on shows like Miami Vice (in a less relevant role here), and movies like Blade Runner and it's upcoming sequel.

Teaming up with Olmos to run away from extraterrestrial human hunters will be Keegan Michael-Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Logan's Boyd Holbrook, Moonlight's Trevante Rhodes, and Room's tiny Jacob Trembley. Olmos is going to have quite a crew with him this time.

The Predator is scheduled to come out February 9, 2018.
