At this point, we know three things about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.:

1. We know that it'll feature a lot of brand-new characters, including Mantis and Kurt Russell's Ego.
2. We know Baby Groot is going to be adorable.
3. We know that it's going to be just as nuts as the first movie.

But now, fans might have just uncovered is the identity of the new character played by Sylvester Stallone. According to the Italian fan site Movies Book, a young adult Guardians book might just have the answer:

The book makes a reference to Stakar Ogord, better known within the Marvel universe as Starhawk, who in the comics is the son of Ayesha, the gold-skinned villain in the upcoming movie. Starhawk is destined to live his life over and over again, giving him an unusual wisdom, which in the comics he uses to help guide the Guardians, and even joins them on missions on occasion.

Stallone, the quintessential Eighties action hero, is the perfect fit for a cameo role in the nostalgia-heavy Guardians. His recent roles in franchises like The Expendables (which he recently publicly announced he was finished with) might not be high art, but the humor, action, and sheer badassery of Stallone makes us excited to see him in GotG.

As far as we can tell, the plot of the movie will involve the Guardians doing a job for Ayesha's people, which ultimately goes south when Rocket steals from them. Forced to flee, the Guardians stumble across Star Lord's father, Ego the Living Planet, before teaming up with allies (and frenemies) to defeat Ayesha. We don't yet know how Stallone's cameo will fit in with the story, but if we're even half way close to understanding what's going on, it sounds like Guardians 2 is going to kick a metric ton of ass.
