The Official 'Last Jedi' Teaser Trailer Shows Luke Skywalker Saying "It's Time for the Jedi to End"
Holy crap, it's here: the official teaser trailer for The Last Jedi! Check it out:

There are some huge plot points in here, but the biggest ones are Rey getting trained in the Force (and lightsaber skills!) by Luke himself, the return of Finn and Poe, and Luke himself apparently saying that he's giving up on the way of the Jedi. The title 'The Last Jedi' always had a double meaning: it could refer to Luke, the last remaining Jedi Knight, or it could refer to Rey and Luke, since Jedi can be plural. We also get to see Luke's island, some apparent Jedi artifacts, and Kylo Ren's smashed helmet, along with scenes of the Rebels in space combat.

Our money is on the guess that Luke gives up during his training of Rey and gives into despair—he loses hope that the Jedi can make a difference anymore, setting the stage for Rey to resurrect his hope, both in her and the Force. We're also betting big, big money that Luke isn't going to live through this one—now that Solo and Leia are gone from the series, only Luke is left over from the old guard, and when a director has the chance to have Luke Skywalker go out in a blaze of glory, sacrificing himself to rekindle 'a new hope' and pass the torch...well, what better way to say goodbye?
