Let's recap on American Gods for a second here: a series from Bryan Fuller, the showrunner for Hannibal, based on a modern literary classic by Neil Gaiman, which stars Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday. On top of that, Fuller left Star Trek: Discovery, one of his dream projects, to make sure American Gods hit all the right notes.

Now, the latest preview shows Ian McShane's Wednesday revealing his name—in the most nonchalant manner possible, which is fitting for an immortal being of his stature.

This new clip takes place mere moments after a similar sneak peek we got a few days ago, and it continues the theme of careful, accurate adaptation of the Neil Gaiman source material.

This important, not least because of just how popular American Gods has become. In a media landscape where Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead can take large liberties in adapting source material (Carol's badassery, for example), messing around with the core of Neil Gaiman's story feels risky, especially since he's got a giant lore doc backing his world up, so it's exciting to see Bryan Fuller paying due reverence to the book in these initial clips.

Either way, Ian McShane is clearly up to the job of taking Mr. Wednesday from the printed page to the small screen. We're looking forward to the premiere of American Gods, and you should too.

American Gods premieres on Starz on April 30th, 2017.
