Marvel's 'Inhumans' Teaser Hints at Treason in Their Futuristic Homeland

With a release date set for this fall, Marvel's Inhumans show is trying to get some momentum going. The first image of the show's oddly dressed cast came out just yesterday, and now there's an official teaser pushing the sort of classic brother-vs-brother treachery in a sci-fi setting that Inhumans is known for.

It's a simple video, with none of the cast showing up this time, only a shot of what appears to be the floating Inhuman homeland of Attilan, and then the logo. But we also get the threatening voice of Maximus, brother to the silent king Black Bolt (played by Anson Mount). While Maximus only mentions his brother's silence as a reason for rebelling (there's probably more at work there), it's clear that he's very quickly going to become a scheming king-to-be:

If Maximus' voice sounds familiar at all, it probably means you're a Game of Thrones fan - that's actor Iwan Rheon, who previously played the villainous Ramsay Bolton on HBO's fantasy juggernaut. If his new character Maximus is anything like Ramsay was, then we're in for a crazy, sadistic villain who'd make a terrifying king if he gets what he wants. It also means Rheon is getting typecast, but it's clearly a role that works for him.

Here's what the main cast will actually look like, with Maximus on the far right of the photo, and Black Bolt and his queen Medusa (Serinda Swan) front and center:

Marvel's Inhumans will premiere in IMAX theaters for two weeks starting September 1, 2017, before moving back to regular TV on ABC shortly after.
