'Twin Peaks' Shows Off Old Characters and Introduces Some New Faces
Showtime
Gradually, very gradually, the Twin Peaks promos are revealing new information as the May 21 premiere approaches. After the short video last week finally included footage of more than just Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) and David Lynch eating a donut, this new one shows us something we haven't seen yet: new characters.

Once you get past some "found footage" levels of shaky cam at the beginning, we get to meet a mixture of old faces (and they do look old nowadays) and some younger Twin Peaks characters we've never seen before, including some young enough to be Laura Palmer's age. Check it out:

While we can't tell much about the new characters, we can identify the old ones: Deputy Andy, Shelley, and Lucy (finally) make appearances toward the beginning, while the teaser ends with shot of Lynch as the hard-of-hearing Agent Gordon, and the late Miguel Ferrer in one of his final performances as Albert. And then a shot of Cooper. Not much dialogue, but don't expect too much at once from Twin Peaks.

Now, if you'd like to actually hear Agent Cooper speak, then you can see Kyle MacLachlan's appearance on The Tonight Show the other night. After a moment of Jimmy Fallon freaking out over how much he loved Twin Peaks as a kid, and an awesome cover of the theme song by The Roots, MacLachlan offers to reveal something about working on the show. Not really, but he had a chance to throw in a catch phrase: they served him some damn good coffee.

Start brewing that coffee now, because Twin Peaks returns May 21, 2017 on Showtime.
