'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Tops the Box Office for Two Straight Weeks
Marvel/Disney
Nobody was too worried about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 bombing, which it most certainly did not. It's a Marvel movie after all, which means it's still the biggest movie in theaters right now, having spent its second weekend beating out newcomers like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Vol. 2 currently stands at around $246 million domestically, with a worldwide total of $630 million. On that domestic side, it made $63 million this past weekend, still the most-watched movie in theaters. Coming in second was the Mother's Day comedy Snatched with Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, which earned about a fraction of that much at $17.5 million; Guy Ritchie's bro-fantasy period piece King Arthur came in third, which saw Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) retrieve the magic sword Excalibur and only $14.7 million in domestic ticket sales.

All in all, another normal day at Marvel Studios. It didn't make as much as Avengers: Age of Ultron over its first two weekends, but it made more money than the other Marvel sequels so far, including Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It certainly beat out the first Guardians of the Galaxy (which made $197 million after its first two weekends), and since James Gunn has confirmed that Marvel's letting him make a Vol. 3, Star-Lord and the gang will be sticking around for awhile. Which means Groot will continue to show up everywhere in pop culture.

So if you haven't gotten a chance to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 yet, this movie is likely going to stay in theaters for a long time. So no rush, just watch out for spoilers.
