Spider-Man: Homecoming is almost here, but that's not stopped Sony from giving us one of the opening scenes from the movie. At least the latest offering is somewhat designed to be seen on YouTube—the clip shows the absolutely adorable vlog that Peter Parker shoots on his trip to Berlin for his big debut in Captain America: Civil War. Watch below!

A lot of what's on display here has already been shown in existing clips and trailers, but regardless, it's fun to see how everything fits together, and to just bask in Peter Parker's exuberance at being given an overinflated sense of what air travel is like as a teenager. Tom Holland deserves a medal for managing to keep a straight face while Robert Downey Jr. is filling his head with images of Marisa Tomei in "something skimpy", and for managing to turn in such a believable performance even when delivered in smartphone form.

This little clip is a nice touch for the movie in general—it could even be seen as paying tribute to comic book Peter Parker's photography hobby. Tom Holland's version of Peter isn't a kitsch hipster with a chunky camera like Andrew Garfield, so going the quick, easy smartphone route really makes it apparent that this is a younger, more modern take on the character.

This scene also helps to set up the central story arc for Peter in Homecoming, as his mind is blown by the glamorous Tony Stark lifestyle and he reaches to earn his idol's approval. Sure, it's a shame that the movie won't be presenting a strong Uncle Ben-inspired moral message, but this clip does a great job of telling audiences all they need to know about Spider-Man's motivation this time around.

This isn't quite the first scene of the movie—that honor goes to attempting to make Michael Keaton's Vulture feel a little more sympathetic and three-dimensional than the majority of Marvel villains. But as an introduction to the new, genuinely teenage Peter Parker, this homespun vlog does a fantastic job of setting up the movie, and showing what Spider-Man is fighting for this time around.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits US theaters on July 7th, 2017.
