Stan Lee Narrates a New 'The Defenders' Teaser and its Punisher Cameo
Netflix
In a few weeks, the heroes of Netflix's street-level Marvel shows will have their big Avengers moment as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist unite in The Defenders miniseries. And of course, Stan Lee will be there too.

In fact, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's resident Watcher, Stan Lee, narrated the newest teaser for the Marvel/Netflix show in a featurette fittingly titled "Stan Lee: The Man, the Myth, the Marvel Hero." And even though Stan Lee technically didn't create most of the characters who show up here (mostly just Daredevil), he's still Stan Lee, and Stan Lee is always allowed to do things in the MCU.

Check out the video below, and be on the lookout for a certain appearance by Jon Bernthal as Marvel's current Punisher:

Much of the teaser is recycled shots from the previous Netflix shows and the previous trailer, combined with several artsy shots of Stan in the back of a car (note the "STAN L33" license plate) while the chaos of events from Luke Cage and Iron Fist unfold around him. He also gets a chance to wax poetic about the superheroes he created and/or made possible, and his speech about how "we don't need to be perfect to do what's right" is particularly resonant for a show about less powerful superheroes (nobody here is Thor, after all) in smaller-scale stories.

But the video does end with something we haven't seen before: a first look at The Punisher as he'll appear in The Defenders, covered in dirt and stray bullets that got stuck in his body armor. His body armor which, by the way, finally has his trademark skull spray-painted on. The shot is rather blurry, but it's clear enough to see that somebody's pissed off Frank Castle:

Netflix

There's been no confirmation on whether The Punisher would be appearing in The Defenders before now, so it's likely that Castle will be stopping by to fight Sigourney Weaver's villainous Alexandra before he moves into his own spin-off show, which should premiere later in the year.

And we're sure Stan Lee will make a cameo there too, even if it's just in the police photo which appears in all the other Netflix shows.

The Defenders premieres August 8, 2017 on Netflix.
