Samuel L. Jackson Confirms 'Ms.Olsen' As Scarlet Witch

A while back, some corners of the internet were convinced that Joss Whedon had successfully filled the role of the Scarlet Witch in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Those same corners of the internet were also convinced it was the excellent Elizabeth Olsen who had been selected. Now, thanks to Samuel L. Jackson, it would appear that  those corners of the internet can give themselves a pat on the back.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Jackson appeared to confirm the appointment of Olsen to the coveted role of the Scarlet Witch. Here's what he had to say about Marvel's flagship movie for 2015:

"I don't think we begin shooting until March of next year...I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms.[Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script".

So there you have it folks. Somehow, Samuel L. Jackson manages to sound so absolutely non-plussed about this, a massive film event, yet still confirm a vital piece of casting news. Only Mr Jackson could do that.

Director Joss Whedon has already hinted that the Scarlet Witch will play a major role in the movie, so it's a relief to see they have recruited someone as talented as Olsen. I should add though, there has still not been any official word from Marvel on Olsen's hiring, so try and temper that excitement for now.
