Leaked Casting Call May Reveal Details On Edgar Wright's Ant Man

Could a leaked casting call for an 'Untitled Marvel Feature' reveal clues about Edgar Wright's 2015 Ant Man movie? Revealed by UK blog Bludhaven Banter, the casting calls, which also include calls for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D refer to 6 ethinicity-specific roles:

YOUNG GIRL: Submit ages 6-9, intelligent, appealing

MALE: 30s, Asian, Huge, tough and intimidating, comedic ability

MALE: 30s, Caucasian, over 6', dangerous and rough, comedic

MALE: 50s, Italian-American, scary and unusual features, deadpan humor

MALE: 30s - 40s, Russian, wiry and smart, deadpan humor

MALE: 20s - 30s, any ethnicity, under 5'8", edgy and funny

It is obviously not a sure-thing that this call relates to Marvel's Ant Man, but with production being pushed up to early 2014, it would make sense for casting to begin about now. So, if this was to be a call for Ant Man, what do these detail reveal? Many writers are making the connection between the 'Young Girl' and Cassie Lang, the daughter of thief and eventual Avenger, Scott Lang.

What makes this connection so significant is that it could turn the whole Ant Man premise on its head, with Scott Lang potentially being the man behind Marvel's big screen Ant Man and not Henry Pym as was first thought. In Marvel's comics, Lang's eventual use of the Ant Man suit led to his acceptance by the Avengers, meaning this could potentially be the first 3rd generation character to find his way into the climactic 3rd Avengers movie. Add to this the fact that Marvel recently moved the Ant Man movie's release date forward, bringing it alongside Avengers: Age of Ultron in Summer 2015, the picture starts becoming slightly less murky.

With this in mind, what would you make of Joseph Gordon Levitt or Paul Rudd as Scott Lang? The pair have been heavily linked with Edgar Wright's project, but do they have the rascal qualities required to play the master thief in what Wright says will play out like a 'Heist Movie'? Or is this just too tenuous of a link to be suggesting that Henry Pym won't be Marvel's big screen Ant Man?
