Star Wars Gowns Steal The Show At New York Fashion Week

It was Haute Couture meets the Hutts at New York Fashion Week today as Rodarte stole the catwalk with an epic collection of designer Star Wars Gowns. Unfortunately, despite our lead-in line Jabba did not make it to the final cut on the headline stealing collection, but there were a host of icons present from the Star Wars universe.  Designed by the Mulleavy sisters Kate and Laura, the gowns will have Star Wars fans cringing at the thought of those fashion folk parading through Soho with some of their most beloved characters emblazoned on their dresses. Because lets face it, while Star Wars clothes are fun, lets just keep it to fans and convention-goers eh?

Featured on the gowns were headlining characters Luke Skywalker, C-3PO and Yoda, but if you're not all about promoting Star Wars celebrity you may want to opt for the Death Star option or the Dual moons of Tatooine. So is this it? Is that awful term 'Geek Chic' really going to make a comeback? Keep your fingers crossed that this is just a gimmick.
