New Godzilla Trailer Hints At Rodan And Other Giant Monsters

This new Godzilla movie is looking more interesting with every little snippet we see. The latest poster has already confirmed that 2014 Godzilla will be the biggest in history, but does this new trailer suggest that there will be more than one giant monster on our hands? Legendary Pictures' official synopsis certainly hinted at it when they said Godzilla would come up against "malevolent creatures", but this latest trailer may have just confirmed it. At 1:32, something big and scary can be seen plunging from the sky into the fog covered water. This coupled with fighter jets plummeting to their doom would suggest that Rodan, the legendary flying bane of Godzilla will be making an appearance in Gareth Edwards' new summer blockbuster. If this is the case, Edwards and Legendary just piqued the interest of thousands of hardcore Godzilla fans and instantly made their movie a must-see for the summer.

The rest of this second trailer (which trumps the first in every conceivable way) focuses on the impending monster-shaped disasters being a product of human naivety and arrogance. Nuclear weapons tests in the Pacific? They weren't tests at all, that was us trying to get rid of the first wave of big monsters. It is behaviour like this that has Bryan Cranston's character all emotional and who can blame him? There is clearly a multi-city disaster going on here and it looks like it the scale of destruction could even go beyond that of Pacific Rim.

The trailer saves the best for last though, finally giving us a chance to hear the famous Godzilla roar. Fans will be relieved to hear that they Edwards and co. haven't tried to do anything fancy with the Kaiju's vocals keeping it very close to the original screech.

So, is this latest trailer enough to put Godzilla's May 16th release firmly in your diary?
