San Diego Comic Con Round-Up - Wednesday 23rd July 2014

San Diego Comic Con doesn't officially open until a little later today, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a veritable treasure trove of news coming from the event during its preview day yesterday. Posters, concept art and even a look at Ben Affleck's (we refuse to use the term Batfleck) Batsuit for Batman vs Superman were all on show. Here's everything you might have missed in one handy spot.

Ben Affleck's Batsuit

Critical reception to the new look cowl has been positive. Many are enjoying the far more simplified and minimalistic aesthetic compared to the hi-tech feel of past movies. Check it out below courtesy of USA Today.

Alternative Poster for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Previous artwork for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, this brilliant alternative poster has come along to save the day, featuring Peter Quill's iconic mask and a simple silhouette of the rest of the Guardians.

Ant Man Poster

In the space of a couple of months, Ant Man has gone from being one of the hottest prospects of 2015 to a production that has fans of the Marvel character fidgeting nervously in their seats. Marvel will no doubt look to ease the minds of fans during Comic Con, and they've started by releasing the first poster for the production via Entertainment Weekly.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Concept Posters

One Marvel product that's not had many issues of late is Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Expect a lot of buzz around the 2015 release this week with many expecting the first trailer to be aired during Marvel's panel. Until then, take a look at these beautiful concept posters.

Guillermo del Toro will own Legendary's booth

The Mexican master of visuals is expected to be the big draw to Legendary Pictures' show floor booth this year. Visitors to the booth will get the chance to see what it's like to pilot a Jaeger from Pacific Rim thanks to Oculus Rift technology, while the studio have also laid on a special Gothic Hallway to promote their 2015 picture starring Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam

Mad Max: Fury Road Poster

We were blown away by the way Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult had transformed themselves for this movie. Now we can expect to see a lot more from George Miller's movie this week, starting with the first poster, below.

Painkiller Jane adaptation gets two directors

The Soska sisters have been selected to direct the upcoming adaptation of the popular Painkiller Jane comic adaptation. The twins were behind masterminds behind the wild and weird slasher movie, American Mary and have recently worked on WWE's Vendetta movie. Created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada,  Painkiller Jane tells the story of a vigilante woman who possesses powerful regenerative capabilities.

Warcraft Movie logo and weapons revealed

Just because Guillermo del Toro is there, don't think for a second that Legendary's Warcraft movie won't get its fair share of buzz. The studio released the title logo for the movie yesterday while there will also be a host of weapons on display including the iconic Doomhammer.

Alien Isolation Xenomorph Egg

One of the hottest gaming prospects at Comic Con this year is Sega's Alien Isolation. To give fans an idea of what they can expect from the lo-fi sci-fi thriller, Sega have constructed a 7 foot tall isolation booth in the shape of a Xenomorph egg. Once in the egg, visitors will get a chance to witness the game's suspenseful gameplay months ahead of the products official October release.

Mattel's Darth Vader Car

Last but not least, our good pal, Aaron Sagers stumbled across this awesome Darth Vader car over at Mattel's booth. Makes the Batmobile look like a hunk o' junk.
