Batman vs Superman Beats Avengers: Age of Ultron for Online Buzz

On Day 4 of San Diego Comic Con, the two rival superhero film titans, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Avengers: Age of Ultron went head-to-head, and (somewhat surprisingly) DC came out on top, at least regarding online mentions.

According to this infographic compiled by research company Way to Blue, Batman v Superman had the most online mentions of any Comic Con movie on Saturday, even though Avengers: Age of Ultron held a panel on the same day. Warner Bros beat Marvel with 112,108 overall mentions and 8,356 intent-to-view mentions, as opposed to Avengers' 62,542 overall mentions and 8,483 intent-to-view mentions, which put them in a solid second place for overall mentions and first place for intent-to-view. Way to Blue did not specify their methodology for collecting or defining "mentions," but it's likely a safe bet that they're referring to mentions on social media.

DC likely won as a result of the deluge of excitement that they heaped upon fans for the upcoming superhero team-up; stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck made surprise appearances to promote the film, fans were rewarded with an exclusive teaser for the film, and Zack Snyder revealed the first official photo of Gal Godot as Wonder Woman

Television was a major presence, with fantasy shows Once Upon a Time and the Vampire Diaries not only receiving the most attention out of all of the television shows, but nipping at the heels of Batman v Superman and Avengers, as well as beating out the highly anticipated sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy.

For good measure, here are the infographics for Friday and Sunday:
