Mathematical Proof that Orphan Black Is the Best Show Ever in One Handy Infographic

Ever wondered how many times Sarah Manning swears over the course of two seasons of Orphan Black? This infographic answers that, and all the other burning questions you never knew you had about one of the best television shows around.

Like most praise of Orphan Black, this infographic is really a testament to the enormous talent that is Tatiana Maslany, who not only plays a dozen different roles (with five different accents) but also navigates the tricky nuances of differentiating between playing the clones and playing the clones when they're impersonating other clones, as they are wont to do. Plus, she does a mean Shaun of the Dead.

This infographic, while fairly comprehensive, doesn't mention the show's groundbreaking stance on gender and sexuality issues. The show is highly female-driven, with Tatiana Maslany playing most of the main characters, who are all well-written and well-rounded. Most of the important relationships are between women as well, so it definitely passes the Bechdel test. The brother of the main character is gay, one of the clones is transgender, and another clone, Cosima, is shown entering into a relationship with a woman, which the show handles with sensitivity, respect, and, most importantly, a sense of normalcy. One fan told Maslany at San Diego Comic Con that the show had helped her come out to her family, which reportedly made Maslany cry.

Orphan Black will return for its third season next spring.
