Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. Preview Pages Delve into Hellboy's Past

The original series skipped Hellboy's early life entirely, the flashback miniseries set in 1946, 1947 and 1948 showed us Hellboy's adolescence, and now a new miniseries, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D., will follow Hellboy as a young adult, working for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense for the first time. The series will be written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and B.R.P.D. writer John Arcudi, and will be illustrated by Alex Maleev and Dave Stewart.

Mignola said of the series, "What really led to this book was that we did the B.P.R.D. 1946, 1947 and 1948 books, and we started to see baby Hellboy growing up and interacting with these agents. It just seemed like such a perfect next step to jump up a couple of years with an older Hellboy-though still young and inexperienced-with these guys who a couple of years earlier were the cool kids or the big kids to him."
