Jenna Malone Linked With Female Robin Role In Batman v Superman

Robin could be returning to the big screen in Batman v Superman, and Jenna Malone is being linked with the role. The reports of a female Robin came from a Michigan-based news station, WILX-10, who spoke with a student from Michigan State University, whose campus is being used as a set for Zack Snyder's 2016 movie.

"I've also learned that the character of Robin is now female," said the tipster after observing a scene featuring Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Batman (Ben Affleck).

If the rumor is true, I can't help but think Jenna Malone would be the perfect fit for such a role. As she has proven in recent roles on movies like Hunger Games and Sucker Punch, she has the athleticism and charm to pull of a major comic book movie character. Add to that the fact that she has been seen recently sporting a new fiery red hair-do and its not hard to see why she is being linked with the job.

In comic book terms, Female Robin first appeared as 13 year old Carrie Kelly in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns series, however, Carrie is best known to many DC fans for her appearance in Batman: The Animated Series.

As interesting as this news is, it could come at a hefty price for the tipster who revealed it. It's no secret that anybody involved on the set of the Warner Bros. movie is made to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement. If the student is proven to have broken that agreement, a fine of up to $5million could be handed to them.
