Man of Steel Writer, David Goyer, Working On Superman Prequel Show 'Krypton'
Is the DC Universe about to embark upon another foray into the realm of television? According to a few rumors out on the internet this morning, Man of Steel writer, David Goyer, is being linked with a new DC comics TV project entitled 'Krypton'. According to the likes of Bleeding Cool News, Goyer, is involved in the latest in a string of DC comics TV projects which, from the sounds of the title, seems likely to be an exploration of life on Superman's home planet before its tragic destruction.

If these rumors are true, this be an incredibly ambitious project. The challenges associated with pulling off a superhero TV show are many in number, but the challenges of pulling of a superhero TV show set on another planet are even more numerous. That being said, if Goyer and co. could get this right, the payoff would be huge. Krypton is a visually rich world with a great deal of history in DC Comics canon, but on screen it is a world that has not been explored all that much. It was something of a shock when last year's Man of Steel dedicated as much time as it did to events leading to the planet's destruction, but many feel those sequences were some of the film's best. An on screen exploration of this incredibly sophisticated and complex alien culture would surely be big news if it were to come to fruition.
What do you think of these rumors? Could a Superman prequel work as well as Batman's 'Gotham' prequel has so far? Could an alien world as complex as Krypton be brought to life on the small screen?
