Concept Art Up for Sale from Joss Whedon's Extinct Wonder Woman Movie

We'll soon see Gal Godot as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and hopefully a solo film as well. But for those of you who were once looking forward to Joss Whedon's take on the iconic character, rare promo art has just been released that proves this rumored project did, in fact, exist at one point:

The artwork is currently being sold on eBay in order to fundraise for Clydene Nee, an organizer for Comic Con's Artist's Alley who is suffering from kidney failure. The bidding closes later today, and artist Adam Hughes has also put the original sketch up for bid:

The money for the artwork is certainly going to a good cause, as the transplant and health insurance systems cause thousands of people to go without necessary kidney transplants every year. But even as a huge Whedon fan, I'm not sure whether the artwork actually says anything good about the proposed film. While it superficially portrays Wonder Woman in a "girl power" stance, it's still a sexualized portrait of her, especially since you can't see her face. Since there's no telling how much input Whedon had on this artwork, as the project was aborted fairly early, so this is either a testament to Hughes's view of the character or further evidence that Whedon is a very good feminist, but not a perfect one.
