Marvel's Ant-Man Prequel Comic Sees Agent Peggy Carter Team Up With Hank

When we learnt that Hayley Atwell's Agent Peggy Carter was going to appear in Marvel's Ant-Man, a whole truck load of theories were wheeled out. The idea that there would be a flashback to Hank Pym meeting S.H.I.E.L.D.'s founding members became the consensus, but pages from Marvel's prelude comic to Ant-Man show that Pym and Carter's relationship was far more involved than we thought.

It seems as though Agent Carter has taken it upon herself to train Pym, which opens up the possibility that Michael Douglas's character from the movie could have far closer ties to S.H.I.E.L.D. than we previously thought.

The special prelude series to the Ant-Man movie will run for 2 issues with Will Corona Pilgrim writing and artwork by Miguel Sepulveda. Judging from these preview pages and the official description, the prelude comic will give us an idea of just what the MCU's Hank Pym is made of.

Official Synopsis

"Before Scott Lang becomes Marvel's shrinking sensation, Dr. Hank Pym will pull on the helmet and leap into action on a death-defying mission that will take him into the icy heart of Cold War East Berlin!"

As mentioned before, the Ant-Man movie will see an older Hank Pym being played by Michael Douglas. Pym recruits Paul Rudd's Scott Lang to take control of the Ant-Man suit, which allows him to shrink to a minute size while increasing his strength. The movie's big bad comes in the form of Corey Stroll's Darren Cross, who secures Pym's technology and becomes the villainous Yellowjacket. Joining Stroll, Rudd and Douglas is Evangeline Lilly who plays Hope Van Dyne, and don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for an appearance by John Slattery as he reprises his role as Howard Stark.

Ant-Man the movie is released on July 17th 2015.
