Sense8: Official Synopsis and Premiere Date for the Wachowskis' Netflix Series
Jupiter Ascending was, sadly, annihilated by critics, but Matrix fans will likely still be excited for the Wachowskis' newest effort, the Netflix series Sense8, for which we finally have an official synopsis:
One gunshot, one death, one moment out of time that irrevocably links eight minds in disparate parts of the world, putting them in each other's lives, each other's secrets, and in terrible danger. Ordinary people suddenly reborn as "Sensates."
The show, which is now scheduled to release all twelve episodes on Netflix on June 5, sounds a lot like Heroes, which bodes well in my book. Although it went downhill in later seasons, the first season was pure sci-fi fun, and I would be a very happy camper if the Wachowskis could reproduce that success.
Although if they do go the Heroes route, it will likely be with a twist, as recent interviews have indicated that the show will be chock-full of their trademark weirdness. "Live births" and "crazy psychic orgies" have come up once or twice, which should get everyone talking, at the very least. Lana recently claimed that "there's not anything like it on TV." Psychic orgies alone might make this statement true, although we'll reserve judgment about whether it will actually be good or not.
