Star Wars Battlefront Will Debut at Star Wars Celebration
It's happening people! Star Wars: Battlefront will finally start to feel like a reality next month, as it was announced today that the game would make its debut at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.

"We're thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19," said an EA/DICE statement. "We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it."

Details of the game, which was announced back in 2013, have been kept a closely guarded secret, and next month's reveal will represent the first tangible reveal from the project since the release of a trailer at E3 last year. At present the game does not have a release date, but it could potentially make sense for EA and DICE to take advantage of the momentum being built by the lead-in to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and release it towards the end of this year.

A new Star Wars Battlefront game has been high on the list of demands of Star Wars fans for some time now, and the announcement that EA and DICE are bringing it to Star Wars Celebration is the latest in a growing list of big draws to the event. It's already widely expected that JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy will be making a big announcement on the opening day of Celebration, while big names including Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are expected to be in attendance along with a host of other prominent members of the LucasFilm and Disney team.

Here's what DICE Design Director, Niklas Fegraeus had to say about the project earlier

"The scale of our maps and modes offer a great variety depending on the location," Star Wars Battlefront Design Director Niklas Fegraeus previously said. "Hoth, where the Rebel Alliance fought off invading AT-ATs in snowy plains, will differ in size than the dense woodland of Endor….We have actually made the decision to specifically tailor certain maps to certain game modes and what we get from that is not only incredibly varied scales, but also gameplay that will allow players to live out some of their most memorable Star Wars battle fantasies."

Star Wars: Celebration runs from April 16-19th at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
