Directors of the Star Wars Stand-Alone Movies to Appear at Star Wars Celebration
The guest list for Star Wars Celebration, Anaheim, just got even longer with the announcement that the directors of Disney's two standalone Star Wars movies, Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank, will be appearing at the event for an on-stage discussion with LucasFilm President, Kathleen Kennedy.

"Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart and Pablo Hidalgo will be joined by directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank, who will share their experiences as the newest members of the Lucasfilm creative family," reads the announcement. "Learn how the teams came together and are collaborating to conceive and create the upcoming stand-alone films in the galaxy far, far away.

There's been an increasing amount of speculation in recent weeks, regarding what Disney and LucasFilm have planned for next month's weekend-long event, and this latest announcement only serves to add fuel to the rumors that the studio will use Star Wars Celebration as the platform for a host of big announcements regarding their upcoming movie and TV projects. Gareth Edwards' Star Wars: Rogue One is a likely candidate to have some details revealed about it when Celebration rolls around, and it could be that the director drops more than a few hints during his on-stage chat with Kennedy and Trank. As for Josh Trank, little is known about his upcoming Star Wars stand-alone movie project and, while optimists will attend the panel hoping to learn the movie's title, many fans would settle just for discovering what it's release date is.

As well as this focus on Edwards and Trank's stand-alone projects, Star Wars Celebration has a number of other big name events planned throughout the course of the weekend. Star Wars: The Force Awakens director, JJ Abrams is set to open the weekend alongside Kathleen Kennedy, and organizers of the event have warned fans that they should prepare for some pretty big news when the pair take the stage at 10am on Thursday 16th April. Smart money would seem to suggest that the first full trailer for Force Awakens will be played at this time, but depending on how big Disney go with this event, there's a chance that an exclusive clip could be played as well. Either way, this event is going to be HUGE.

Star Wars Celebration runs from April 16th to April 19th at the Anaheim Convention Center, California.
