A Decade of Doctor Who: This VFX-Heavy Tribute Video Will Make You Cry
In honor of Doctor Who's tenth anniversary, visual effects artist John Smith created this gorgeous fan video that takes us through all the memorable moments of the new series:



Although it uses elements from the show and makes us very nostalgic, this tribute is distinct from other fan videos as a result of the creator's VFX background. While many other fan videos string together clips from the show with varying degrees of editing, this is much more visually consistent, and almost looks like a sepia-toned video made from scratch. Not to mention that the line at the end: "Traveling with you made me feel really special. Thank you for that" is almost guaranteed to make you weepy.

Although technically, Doctor Who started in 1963, the new version started in 2005 with the March 26th episode "Rose," which introduced Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor. Last week, on the exact anniversary, Peter Capaldi surprised fans at the Doctor Who Experience by singing "Happy Birthday" to the series and cutting the cake:
