Star Wars Movies Finally Get a Digital Release, Celebrate With 6 Special Trailers
We Star Wars fans are really being spoilt this year, aren't we? Not only do we have Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Rebels, but our favorite movie franchise has now been brought out of the dark ages with the announcement that all six Star Wars movies are finally getting a digital release on April 10th 2015.

"We're thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the 'Star Wars' saga on their digital devices wherever they go," said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement. "These films broke new ground in technology, design, sound, and visual effects, and we've created some very special bonus material which delves into the saga's rich history, including new and never-before-released conversations between legendary 'Star Wars' artists - the masters who helped George bring his iconic universe to life."

This news will be a huge relief for fans who, for years now, have had to struggle with watching their favorite movies on DVD, or even VHS. Lucas never revealed why he refused to release the Star Wars movies to digital outlets such as iTunes and Amazon, but with Disney now in control, fans will finally be able to watch the Star Wars saga unfold on everything from their smartphone to their laptop.

One piece of bad news, though. If you've been a fan of Star Wars for a long time, the chances are that this news was followed by thoughts in your head relating to finally being able to rewatch the versions of the original trilogy that George Lucas didn't butcher with added CGI and altered scenes. Unfortunately, the digital release will not featured the movies in their original format and will, instead, feature George Lucas's re-release versions, which means no Yub Nub for you.

Despite that blow, this is still a huge moment in Star Wars history and to celebrate, Disney and LucasFilm have released a special trailer for each of the 6 movies to get you juiced up for the April 10th release.
