First Full Jurassic World Clip Finally Allows Chris Pratt to Crack Some Jokes
We're happy to see Chris Pratt in anything, really, but it was a little strange to see him as a relatively grave animal behavior researcher in the Jurassic World trailers. He's a talented actor and could probably pull off a dramatic role, but his recent rise to fame with Parks and Rec and Guardians of the Galaxy has established him as a comedic talent, and all of his appearances in the trailer seemed completely humorless. Now, we get to see him in semi-Star Lord mode, as he banters and jokes with Bryce Dallas Howard in the first full clip from Jurassic World:

Pratt is his usual charming self here, although the dialogue isn't anything to write home about. I liked the "What diet doesn't include tequila?" "All of them, actually" exchange, but that was about it. The rest of the dialogue is far too expositional, their uptight woman/womanizing man dynamic is a cliche, and they don't seem to have enough chemistry to justify a romantic subplot. But, on the dinosaur side of things, this clip did confirm once and for all that Pratt's character has tamed velociraptors at his disposal. His claim that the relationship is based on "mutual respect" mostly comes off as a pick-up line, but it's still a fairly interesting concept.

And speaking of Chris Pratt being adorable, here's him singing his own hilarious rendition of the Jurassic Park theme song:
