Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff to Write and Star in Her Very Own Sci-Fi Series
If you needed more Kara Thrace in your life, this might be the next best thing. Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff will team up with Continuum producer Reunion Pictures to create a sci-fi series called Rain, in which she will also play the protagonist.

According to Deadline, Rain is officially described as "an evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff). It explores how the long term affects [sic] of global warming, the burning of fossil fuels and the scientific manipulation of natures balance rot the world on an even decline."

Although we obviously can't necessarily expect another Battlestar, this show already has many of the elements that made that show great: Sackhoff, futuristic worldbuilding, and social commentary. There's no news yet on when this show will be airing or on what network, but whenever it does air, count us in.

"With Rain Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand," said Reunion Pictures' Tom Rowe, who will executive produce along with Sackhoff. "She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her."
