Ryan Gosling in Talks to Star in Blade Runner 2
After being rumored for everything from Doctor Strange to Ghostbusters, Ryan Gosling has finally found his nerdy niche in the Blade Runner sequel. There's no word on the name of his character or his place in the plot (which we're also in the dark about), but he's definitely "in negotiations" for a starring role.

Assuming the negotiations go well, Gosling will join co-star Harrison Ford, reprising his role from the original 1982 film (which is probably the reason this is a sequel rather than a reboot). The sequel will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, best known for the acclaimed 2013 drama Prisoners, and will be executive produced by Ridley Scott.

We're always a little hesitant to embrace sequels to films like these, classics that could easily be self-contained. But with this much talent behind it, we're getting cautiously optimistic about Blade Runner 2, especially since the original film's world-building and mythology was certainly involved enough to support several films.

Blade Runner 2 is set to begin filming in the summer of 2016.
