The DVD Version of Avengers: Age of Ultron Will Have an Extended Cut with an Alternate Ending
No one in the U.S. has seen the ending to Avengers: Age of Ultron yet, but now, we can already look forward to an alternate ending in case we don't like the theatrical one. The DVD and Blu Ray will have an extended cut of the film, as well as an alternate ending, and we'll be very curious to see whether the change is significant or Howard the Duck-ish.

The Telegraph reports that Amazon in the UK sent out an email to retailers stating, "Avengers: Age of Ultron is available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-Ray, including an extended version and alternate ending."

Joss Whedon has already admitted that the original cut was three-and-a-half hours long (with 140 minutes ultimately cut), but presumably he won't put all the cut footage back in (although I'm sure there are many fans who wouldn't complain about three-and-a-half hours of Marvel fun). It will likely just be a scene here and there that weren't cut for substantial reasons. "There's one or two things that I'm unhappy about not having in there, but they're small," Whedon told Vulture.

And although we can't really speculate on the alternate ending, since we haven't seen the original ending yet, we can speculate on which of the cast's deleted scenes will make it back into the film on the DVD/Blu-Ray:

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out on May 1, while the DVD and Blu-Ray release has been estimated for August 2015.
