UPDATED: Is Ben Affleck Filming a Batman Cameo for Suicide Squad?
Is Ben Affleck filming a cameo as Batman for Suicide Squad? Since the supervillain/antihero mash-up film mostly focuses on one-time Batman villains, it makes sense that Batman would come into play somehow, and there have been many rumors to that effect. However, it was mostly assumed that if Batman did show up, it would likely be in archive footage or shots that could be performed by a double. But now, eTalk reports that Ben Affleck has arrived in Toronto, where the cast of Suicide Squad is currently filming, and these pictures from Toronto-based Twitter users are making the rounds:

Even without verification that the above photos are actually the Suicide Squad set, the simple fact that Affleck is in Toronto would strongly indicate that he will appear in Suicide Squad. It's hard to believe it would be a coincidence, and filming on Batman v Superman has been wrapped for months, so there's no chance that he's filming a scene with a Suicide Squad actor for that film.

UPDATE 4/28/15 5:15 pm: According to Latino Review, Affleck's presence in Toronto will be serving two purposes: a Suicide Squad cameo and a flashback sequence featuring the Joker for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We already heard the rumors that (spoilers!) Robin will already be dead in Batman v Superman, and Latino Review claims that the flashback sequence will see Joker beating and killing Jason Todd. This sequence will supposedly explain why the Joker is in jail at the beginning of Suicide Squad.

A Batman cameo would also explain this "cryptic" tweet from Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder:

We're excited about this, although Affleck's presence would tend to obscure the other characters a bit, especially if his performance in Batman v Superman is well-received. But a small cameo, maybe a post-credits scene, would be perfect. You can't really have Joker without a little bit of Batman, can you?

Suicide Squad, which stars Jared Leto as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
