Star Wars: The 4-Episode Clone Wars 'Bad Batch' Arc Has Been Officially Released
Fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars were ecstatic when the never-before-seen "Bad Batch" episodes of the beloved animated series were exclusively shown at Star Wars Celebration, but for everyone who couldn't make it to Anaheim, there was also the hope that they would eventually get a wider release. Now, Starwars.com has officially released the legendary unfinished episodes.

The episode arc is called "Bad Batch" because it follows a literally defective batch of Stormtroopers who were genetically modified into supersoldiers and who attempt to recover the Republic's strategy algorithm from Admiral Trench. "Bad Batch" also works as a double entendre, as the episodes themselves were unfinished when the show was cancelled in 2013. As a result, they are in storyboarded form and the animation is visibly incomplete, although it does feature voice work from the original cast.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars first went on the air in 2008 and soon became a favorite with Star Wars fans of all ages. But when the Disney purchase of LucasFilm was completed, the hit show was one of the biggest casualties, getting cancelled after five seasons without a satisfactory ending. After much fan lobbying, it was announced last year that 13 episodes entitled 'The Lost Missions' would be airing on Netflix, and the unfinished "Bad Batch" episodes represent yet another (possibly final?) attempt to finally give fans closure.
